The Story of Reardon's Market
From humble beginnings, a family business Reardon’s Fruit Market and Garden Center, emerged from economic necessity and entrepreneurial dreams. The Reardon’s father and son team, Kevin and Skip, opened their first roadside market in Pewee Valley in the spring of 1978. Since, the roadside market developed into a community country store with greenhouses and gardening. Maureen Reardon welcomed customers by name, as she would pack their goods with care in brown paper bags. Kevin met his now wife Tracy as they worked side by side. The couple spent the past 30 years building a fruitful business and prosperous family. Children Brooke and Clay spent their childhood romping and playing in the greenhouses and store. As they grew, both took on roles assisting in the business. Reardon’s is rooted in strong family and community values. Families have grown with the tradition of wholesome local produce and thriving gardens. When customers walk through the gravel lot to shop local they are supporting a family and neighborhood entrepreneurs.
